How are the two required Bankruptcy Education courses offered?

Both courses are offered online.

To take the Pre-filing Consumer Credit Counseling Course or Post-filing Debtor Education Course on-line, click the "First Course" or "Second Course" button in on our homepage to register.

The Credit Counseling Course requires a brief follow up counseling session/briefing with a certified counselor before your certificate of completion can be issued. The debtor education course does not require a follow-up phone call because your course certificate of completion will be automatically issued to you.

What Is The Difference Between The Credit Counseling Course And The Debtor Education Course?

Credit Counseling must take place before you file for bankruptcy; debtor education must take place after you file for bankruptcy. As a rule, you must file a Credit Counseling Certificate of completion when you file for Bankruptcy, and evidence of completion of Debtor Education after you file for bankruptcy – but before your debts are discharged.

How Long Does It Take To Complete The Courses?

The Credit Counseling session takes approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. The Debtor Education session takes about 2 hours to complete.
